Winter Weather News

With weather forecasts predicting possible winter weather in the Triangle area, following are some reminders about the University’s adverse weather practices.
- Any announcements about a change in the University’s operations will be posted as soon as possible to www.unc.edu.
- Sunday’s mid-winter Commencement ceremony on Sunday in the Dean E. Smith Center is scheduled to proceed as planned. Any announcements about weather affecting the event will be posted on www.unc.edu.

UNC’s Traveler's Information System Radio, 1610 AM, near campus.
- Employees (both SPA and EPA non-faculty) are reminded of the University's Adverse Weather Policies. Emergency employees should report for work. Other employees are responsible for their regular duties, must make up time missed and must make their own decisions about coming to work based on personal safety.
- UNC uses three main adverse weather operating conditions: Condition I (open), Condition II (classes cancelled; offices open) or Condition III (classes cancelled; offices closed). Reports of state government closings do not apply to the University.
